Can we sink the IRS? A flat tax looks better every day!

Of course this never happened as the first income tax was assessed in 1862 to raise funds for the American Civil War. Which wouldn’t have been necessary of some folks hadn’t gotten their panties in a knot over owning people.

We should restore working for a living instead of getting a check from the government.Over Half the country doesn’t pay their own way.Punishing those that actually do work and pay taxes is not going to last.Socialist never want to make the non working ,useless and lazy well off, they want to make those that work poor.

Open your own business and find out what working for a living actually means.Instead of having a make nothing hourly job.
    Socialist Europe is broke.

501 © 4’s are tax exempt because they do social welfare work…..
    “Social Welfare Organizations – Examples

Some nonprofit organizations that qualify as social welfare organizations include:

An organization operating an airport that serves the general public in an area with no other airport and that is on land owned by a local government, which supervises the airport’s operation,

A community association that works to improve public services, housing and residential parking; publishes a free community newspaper; sponsors a community sports league, holiday programs and meetings; and contracts with a private security service to patrol the community,

A community association devoted to preserving the community’s traditions, architecture and appearance by representing it before the local legislature and administrative agencies in zoning, traffic and parking matters,

An organization that tries to encourage industrial development and relieve unemployment in an area by making loans to businesses so they will relocate to the area and

An organization that holds an annual festival of regional customs and traditions."

My question, why do any PACs, left or right, enjoy tax exempt status under 501 © 4s?

Yep, good call. Just wait until next year when they start deciding who isn’t “paying their fair share” of the Obamacare Tax.

The Tea Party is a political organization and should never have qualified for 501c4 tax exempt status. The IRS is doing its job.

If you want the 75% tax rate back fine, will you also take the first $400,000 exempt as it was back then? For your information that now equals about 3.8 million in today’s dollars. Sorry.

“My question, why do any PACs, left or right, enjoy tax exempt status under 501( c) 4s?”

You can thank Justices Roberts, Scalia, Alito, Thomas & Kennedy for letting political groups form 501( c)4’s in the Citizens’ United case. The tax exempt status is a bonus. The real reason why they are popular, is that they do not have to identify donors.

Very polite of you to apologize after completely shredding his juvenile argument.

He pays no income tax so why not take everybody else’s money.

‘Find the truth to yourself. There is a better way then having the IRS be judge jury and executioner of the money YOU EARNED!’
    -
I agree. The tax code is over 79,000 pages. Every paragraph on all of those pages (beyond the first 50 or so) represents a political payoff, and also has its own interest group. It needs to be dramatically simplified.
    -
One of the myths that flat taxers advance is that flat tax = a simplified tax code.
    -
It’s your belief that enacting a flat tax would not go through the legislative sausage making and would not contain exemptions for politically connected groups
    You honestly believe that?
    -
No ‘incentives’ for oil exploration and drilling? No ‘depletion’ compensation?
    -
No special treatment for capital gains so that wealthy pay regardless of the source of their income?
    -
    You honestly believe all that?

If it’s only either/or, back then or now, I’d take back then. Of course, it’s way more complicated than that.

You’ve clearly never seen a government agency perform audits. I’ve seen plenty from people who know EXACTLY what to look for, and yes, that means you start your searches where you’re going to most likely find deficiencies.
