As a West coaster I have to chalk this up as another mystery of the East coast.

    Here we go:

To help pay for the construction of the long-awaited connection between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and I-95, turnpike officials plan to borrow $200 million from wealthy foreign investors.
The investors, expected to be primarily from China, could get green cards for themselves and their families to live in the United States in exchange for their money.
The complex deal is being brokered by officers of a prominent and politically connected Philadelphia investment management company.

I doubt that’s due to the party of a governor. That’d be more of a culture thing… Governors are not all powerful. If they were, the Delaware River Port Authority would have been dissolved. (look it up – a very corrupt organization)

As a westerner, hate all the toll roads on the east coast. YEARS AGO, the Pa. turnpike, a “leader” in toll roads, was rated as the worst road, maintenance and construction, in the nation! Paying for massively expensive to maintain bridges like the Golden Gate, or Bay Bridge is rational, but when tolls are many times the cost of maintenance, duh!

What does immigration cost by the way? Toll roads cost on average the equivalent of paying from $26 to $58 a gallon for gasoline. Those who hire “immigrants”, legally, or illegally, not only pay lower wages, but also get jobs done that “privileged class folks” won’t take. We need to get rid of toll roads (generally) and improve our immigration policy/laws.

Orange County, CA has 2 pay-to-drive toll roads, and the tolls are quite expensive. But OC tends to vote Republican. Maybe that explains it.

What good is having a toll road if it is sold to foreign investment? The whole point was less taxes, paid tolls to compensate. They should not have the right to sell them to anyone.

THEVIC IOUSDOUG MARTIG asks: “Do you think is it [sic] smart for you to be calling a whole Nation Stupid! [sic twice in one sentence, an accomplishment]”

I think is it smart to be calling your post the most stoopid one I’ve read all day. And after reading all the looneyness from the “progressive left” all day, that’s saying something.
