Start sewing Clarky! If you can make quality clothes that Americans like AND can afford, you will be a rich man. Welcome to Capitalism.

Btw….Where was that computer you’re typing on made?

Hello Masterkrain, Thanks for giving me a reason to look. I bookmarked this site as a source to look for Made in the USA clothing.^http://www.americansworking.com/clothing.html^@ Ashburn Stadium – Eloquently and intelligently stated, neighbor. Thank you for your words and the quality of your tone.@ cdedward – nicely stated, neighbor. Thanks.@ conservgov – while I agree you are generally right, it does cost more to buy US made goods, what matters is the quality of the items and quality of life that improves for all of our neighbors when people are actively employed making wages that give them disposable income. We need to bring jobs back home.Respectfully,C.

But wait! I want my sales! I mean, there weren’t any Americans killed, just Bangladeshis. And they don’t really count, do they?

Hello Howie, I had been replying to Ashburn’s first two comments to CG under this toon. My paradigm and understanding of history finds common ground in his observations. What did I miss?Hope you’re having a good spring, Howie. The asparagus and lettuces are doing good. :)Respectfully,C.

There can be a balance of: Union, Regulation, and Profit. It is worth the effort. Michigan is a failure. Germany is a success.

americans used to make their own clothes. but, decline of the american garment industry since 1962 is staggering. went from the world largest domestic production to less than 3%. cheap overseas labor, non-existent safety laws, no child labor laws, etc…just so, we can buy those pair of jeans for $10 at walmart. also, many of us will not even create our own jeans(buying the fabric, sewing the fabric, etc..).

I agree with vwdualnomand, sewing here is a lost art.these guys weep over empty racks, and if someone is taking their pictures, but would they institute safety laws for their factories??

In fact, people CAN own property in other countries. The big problem is the bribery system in India, Pakistan, BanglaDesh and other countries. So it’s easier to “Just Do It” and hope or the best. The original building was OK’d, but the subsequent add-ons were illegal and overlooked because some functionary got his palm greased. You bribe to get the permit, or you bribe to get the job done. I also bet Ima never worked for a company that mistreated its workers? I have. And I know the value of unions.
