At least one Dem has the guts to stand up to her corrupt Democrat colleagues.

Ms Kane seems to be involved in something concerning turnpiles.

@ConserveGov
She’ll also be standing up to Tom Corrupt…err…Corbett.
Advice to Gov. Corbett, who is the most-openly-corrupt governor in my lifetime (I’ll be 50 next January):
BE KIND
BE CAREFUL
BE YOUR BEST SELF
Kane is able!

At least she stands up to both parties, unlike Corbett, who only went after Democrats while he was attorney general.
Corbett was also bought out by Jerry Sandusky’s charity, The Second Mile, which gave Corbett six-figure campaign contributions.
That’s most likely why Sandusky wasn’t prosecuted during Corbett’s term as attorney general.

And Corbett, by his position as governor, is automatically a member of the Pee-S-Yuh Board of Trustees.

There should be no tollways or toll bridges. Here in Illinois they said in the 1950’s that the tollways would become freeways when the bonds were paid off. Now they are so expensive that most people don’t use them. Indiana sold their tollways to a private company and it’s even worse there.

Clark, I was going to echo your thoughts.
Increase the gas tax (my idea)
Do away with the tolls…..
and the collectors….from the 1800s….when governments were small…and rather useless.
And, BTW, governments can be and are efficient….
People cry about gov-waste, but say nothing abour private sector corruption and waste.

In civilized California we Liberals don’t do pay-to-play Turnpikes, that’s so corrupt conservative thinking.

@Omnius
In California pay-to-play turnpikes are called HOT lanes, HOT for High Occupancy Toll.
.
Some HOT lanes lead to a home in Los Angeles; some HOT lanes lead to a legislator’s wallet in Sacramento.

yeah, we’re so civilized we drive on freeways that are a nightmare of potholes, deteriorating bridges, broken surfaces that can cost you your suspension. Driving on the 10 freeway in Los Angels is frightening. It is so old, narrow and deteriorated it’s dangerous.

Thanks for the link.
It is good to know that places other than Florida have corruption and shady dealings.

They still have bridge tolls.
We used to say, ‘You have to pay to enter San Francisco, but its free to leave.’
Rockngolfer said, 2 months ago
They have some toll roads and bridges here.
If you only use a toll road occasionally, they take a picture of your license plate and mail you a bill. Last year I wrote a check for $3.50 and mailed it to the tax collector.

Do you know who owns those toll ways? Some have been sold off to foreign investors like Spain. That was not supposed to happen.

Now if we could just find an ethical prosecutor to go after those “no-bid” contractors and their political buddies from Iraq & Afghanistan!
