How about Barrack tries caring about the average worker, not just his rich Hollywood friends and freeloaders on welfare?

You mean the freeloaders like the elderly 25 million or so that depend upon social security ( with the funding that they paid for with FICA taxes all their working years) to keep them from abject poverty?

So, if social security was somehow cancelled (as you seem to want in other posts) would you even be willing to take care of even your own parents, or would you be such a compassionate conservative as to see them living on the street our of a cardboard box instead??

Typical Teapublican nonsense. Spout our “Christian”: heritage while ignoring anything Jesus said about “Love thy neighbor” or Rendering unto Caesar.

There are many Dems disappointed with Mr. Obama’s concessions to R’s. It is my hope Mr. Obama will hear the voices of MLK regarding the topics listed in the cartoon, but that he will also treat climate change as the threat 90% of the world science committee believe it to be to our financial future, our national security, and then there’s all of those silly people living along the shore, in tornado alley, or in areas stricken with drought and chronic firestorms.

Would our founders support gay marriage? Abortion wasn’t on their radar either, but it wasn’t made illegal until the late 1800s. Times change. And again we get back to original intent. If we just go with what the Founders wrote, we would have a cold dead document that would have no meaning except for their lifetimes. Fortunately we have a country where ideas can be debated, minds changed, and wrongs righted. Or should we go back to slavery and the 3/5 person, as the Founders wrote? (Or is that INTENDED?)

Slaves were considered 3/5 person only for calculating the representation of the slave-holding states, so that they did not wield undue power based on their population. This made sense because those states obviously would not allow slaves to vote.
In other words, it was done to limit the power of slave-holding states. Do you wish that they did not?

Actually I referred to people on welfare. That includes people who get FREE checks to pay for their housing, food stamps and fake disability, all of which are at record highs under O. Those are able-bodied people who would prefer to play video games and work under the table one day a week while collecting a government check instead of working for a living like the rest of us.
I have no clue how you threw military personnel into that group, unless you have some kind of animosity toward them.
Also, retirees who actually PAID for their retirement and those that work for a living were never mentioned.

hahahahahaha, Morty, really? Yep he made it easier for women to sue for wage discrimination and yet, in his administration, women are paid less and less likely to hold a position of “importance”.

But then maybe way over in Germany you guys are doing it different.

Well it IS Obama that is threatening to withhold checks from the elderly if he doesn’t get his “unlimited” credit card. But that ’s right you have swallowed this lie from the whitehouse that it is an option not to pay them and it will be republicans that are at fault if OBAMA fails to send the check even though the monthly income far exceeds the monthly requirement to meet the debt payments.

Lincoln would look at the evidence, and accept global warming as a truth. Because it has been proven beyond any reasonable doubt. He certainly wouldn’t behave in Ima’s anti-science head-in-the-sand, “if Al Gore said it’s true, that proves it’s false” school-yard ignorance.

C, I had an interesting conversation with a very progressive friend about climate change last night. He made the point that it would be a 50 year window of time before any changes we made would be reflected in the global climate. Of course to be realistic we have to look at 2 massive polluters that have no intention of complying with climate change controls until it is more economically feasible for them: China and India…
