Don’t expect tears from the Repubs. He dared to disagree with the party line.

Centrist? Don’t think so.
Blatant opportunist would be more than accurate for which he paid at the polls, finally!

“He didn’t dare to disagree either demoncratic party line. He voted with them 90% of the time when he was a demoncrat.”
.
He did that because he believed it. And you are still crying because Chief Justice Roberts didn’t stay bought.

Republicans wrote off Arlen once he turned Democrat. They’ll shed no tears for Arlen or any Democrat or republican who dares to be a centrist.

The word is moderate. Mr. Spector appeared to genuinely care about the American people. I mourn the passing of a decent man. Not many of them left. Period.

These days the Republicans have gone so extreme that even a mild Centrist like Specter would be labeled a traitor and Liberal Socialist.

Perhaps it was guilt from his part in the JFK coverup.

“Then why did he drop Democrat and go Independent, "
.
He was a Republican when he went independent (even tigger knows that he was a Republican), but don’t let facts bother you they never did before…

Maybe that’s because he thought they were headed in the right direction. He disagreed with the Rep plenty, which is what caused him to change parties. (It’s also called a conscience.)

Isn’t that how it’s done at weddings? Stupid tradition! Anyway, Arlen Specter, Rest In Peace. You will be missed, more and more every year from here on out…

Conscience? ? ? He voted for whatever position he was promised the most “perks” for. Democrat/Republican/Independent…title of office made a difference to him, but NOT party line or party name.
He was a self-serving politician…using the worst definition of politician. He was only interested in doing whatever would get him elected. There NEVER WAS any conscience.

The ‘magic bullet’ cover up is his legacy.

He is dead. If he believed he is in heaven. If not….. then he’s dead.

Tell me have you ever written about real Progressives or do you just put in quotes?
Lieberman was more of a Republican anyway. No love lost.
