Big Bird is a “cash cow”, but much of PBS programming is not. Subscribers contribute the largest portion of PBS revenue. “Defense” spending doesn’t bring in much money to the treasury, but defense contractors certainly walk off with a huge share of annual spending. BTW, Christian fundamentalist “Liberty University” gets more federal tax dollars than PBS, and that is just ONE "Christian school’ benefitting from the Office of Faith Based Initiatives, that, like Guantanamo, should indeed have been closed the day after Obama took office.
Guantanamo IS U.S. territory, by treaty, and the whole fiasco there never should have happened under Constitutional law. Likewise, the “Office of Faith Based Initiatives” is a clear violation of the First Amendment when financing religious doctrine, even if It DOES include “multiple faiths”, which, it doesn’t.
MItt has often stated he would increase “defense” spending, and now in debate calls it “military” spending. He even touts buying more junk even the Pentagon, DOES NOT WANT!!! So, why does the bird have to go to save money????
