As a teacher, this really, really hits the mark. SInce everyone went to school, everyone is an expert on teaching.
Walk a mile in my shoes…I teach the lowest achieving readers…if reading was so easy, why do some kids have such a tough time? And, I’m talking first grade people, not older students.
Give teachers some slack and get the politicians out of the classroom

Sure, we’ll just ignore the ever-increasing amount of teacher scandals plaguing the publik skewls. Teachers molesting students (mostly chicks doing the molesting now, thanks to them holding 80% of k-12 positions), passing students onto the next grade when they’re functionally illiterate, etc etc
Try reading Anne Coulter’s chapter on teachers in “Godless.” Because i’m sick of the false-hero syndrome. Aka the “worship all the feminist unionized teachers as God” mental disorder with which the NEA has infected our culture.
Easiest, most brainless degree to earn in all of academia is in “Education.” A friggin’ chimp could probably pass the finals in that one…

Newt and sharpton?

Scott, you joined this gocomics forum a month ago. You’ve posted almost 300 opinions in that time, and now you’ve just endorsed Anne Coulter. You are quite disturbed and should talk to a professional about getting counseling and/or medication. Reading your commentary I take it you’re pretty young. Probably you are in your early 20’s. There’s still time to work on your affliction so you can make a heartfelt effort to attain happiness and balance in your life.

scottfreitas, you are among the foulest individuals to ever grace this forum. The fact that you cite Ann Coulter (among the most vile individuals to ever grace the planet) says a lot about you.
Seriously, my dad just retired from teaching chemistry and biology for almost 40 years. I think he would agree with this toon. And the fact that we’ve got conservatives (like harleyquinn) and liberals (like cdward) agreeing on this one suggests that you’re on the outside of reality looking in.

Anyone who quotes or cites Coulter must be making a joke and not to be taken seriously

Oh Coulter has her place and is far more right then say Moore. But scott deal wit the comic at hand and then you can make a better argument against the “unionized teachers” and such that do gloss over the scandals of un qualified teachers.
mm mmm mm Barack Husein Obama.
But this is comic is about the home life of the students and the hoops the teacher has to jump threw before he or she can teach.

No, Scottie failed the test that ” A friggin’ chimp could probably pass “.

Not a new meme but certainly a refreshing reminder.
And that Harley agrees just does my heart good!

Scott… we’re all really sorry about your uncle.
It wasn’t your fault, man.
It wasn’t your fault.

Scott the last person I’d ever take advice from is Mann Coulter. He hates women so why would I read anything that Heterophobe has to say? I went to a book store and read one of her books (just one page) and the logic is as stupid as the look on her face.
And then you have heartless monsters like Gingrich giving teachers sh*t when they have to deal with overcrowded schools and the like.
Where are the parents?

Definitely one of the best comics I’ve seen on here. Bravo to Signe for not doing the same comic everyone else is doing.

Just picked this up in the San Jose Mercury News. Kudos! And you forgot to put Arne Duncan in the parade of experts. Why don’t they fund Special Education and forget all these carrots for Charter Schools.
