Check out the rantings of the talking (yelling) heads such as Limbaugh, Colter, Beck, etc. Why couldn’t that stuff easily be twisted into their thinking and be used as permission?

Do I have this wrong, or isn’t it true that in the United Kingdom, if a journalist mouths off and says things that are unsupportable and said only to encourage mob mentality to commit atrocious acts, such libelous journalists can be sued or even arrested? Maybe that’s why the Brits don’t have loony shooters like we have.
Or maybe it’s that we allow mental patients to buy guns.

Can’t blame Bush so let’s go after talk show hosts and blame them for the evils in today’s news.

Insane people -temporarily or otherwise- can get guns more easily in the U.S. than any other country. While I don’t think the 2nd amendment applies to individuals, unlike the “conservative” supreme court that overturned more than 200 years of precident recently, I wouldn’t want gun ownership to be a crime in America. But we don’t all need an AK47.

But people making statements on public media should be held accountable for what they say and be made to provide equal air time to those who disagree with them. Them was a hallmark of “the good old days,” of the 1950-70’s, that so many of my conservative friends seem to pine for, and it seems to have worked very well. I don’t know if it’s possible today, but it would be nice to give it a try. The first amendment isn’t the right to incite riot or keep telling BIG LIES, just as the 2nd amendment doesn’t guarantee you the right to keep, bear and carry an AK47.

Chuck: You have convinced me. Equal time. I just wrote an editorial for the NYT to publish. How do we get them to do that?

Bumpers, that’s the strongest case against christian campaings for abstinance; no beer and no sex= violence.

    lol.

I wonder if there is a correlation between sexual frustration and violence.

The only person to blame was himself, The MURDERER in question was a JERK,LOSER,PERVERT,SLEAZEBAG,SLIMEBUCKET,NUTZO,
CREEP,FRUITBAR,LOONEY (Those are the “clean words”) who claims the he didn’t dated a woman since 1994 & hasn’t slept with a woman in 19 years as well as claiming that women didn’t like him & can’t find him
“attractive” This “dude’ needed serious help mentally & the way that he described himself is hie E*Dairy is the reason for his many rejections with women in his patheic “life” There are many men & women in this world who are single & are not ready to go into a serious relationships & are still happy. This guy was a selfish self centered noob who though the world revolved him & thinking that he was “God’s gift to women” . I hope he’s burning in HADES & Is running like a scared rabbit being chased by 5000 ugly looking virgins!

SCOTUS said it’s an individual right, but reasonable regulations are Constitutional. Bigg’s point to me, is who DO you want to run into who’s packing heat? Every time the NRA says “Think of EVERYONE as carrying, it makes me very, very, nervous.

Oldie, I’d also rather have a Barret .50, than an “automatic” weapon with a short barrel and big magazine. Take ‘em out before they know you’re in the neighborhood.

    Hmmm….oldie, I guess it fits for every religion-motivated abstinence…

Hindouism invented the Kama Sutra. They get into the occasional war with Pakistan but not much else…Still, I’m surprised they get into wars at all.

And Budhism has Tantric sex, not much violence there either

Let me reformulate; no beer, no pot and no sex=violence.

Who would attack anyone (and succeed) while on pot? I know it, I was high a few days ago.

    CF,
Alcohol is a factor in a large number of violent crimes. So is sex. I’ll partially agree on pot. When I was teaching HS the students that came in high on pot were a lot less trouble than the ones that showed up drunk. Still didn’t learn anything though.
