Too sad for words. I am a nominal Episcopalian worshiping at a Methodist church because of the infighting.

Actually, the cartoon, great as it is, isn’t quite accurate. Only one party walked away, and that’s the group of homophobic intolerants who can’t seem to accept those who are not like them. If they would ask themselves how our Christ would have handled this, and were honest about it, I don’t think they’d be as pleased with themselves as they seem to be right now. They don’t realize that they’re just embarassing themselves with their intolerance.

Unfortunately, the lack of people in the pews is all too reflective of the reality of TEC. Now, perhaps, we’ll begin to focus on something other than sexuality and gender…like maybe clothing the naked, feeding the hungry, and lifting up the poor and needy.

Hmmm… no… I’m pretty sure God hates gay people. Not sure who y’all are listening to. :-P

Actually the split of the faction brings up the question of property. Who owns the Church and land the faction was using. P.S. Does the name Henry VIII mean anything?

Thanks lalas for the sarcasm :)
Brent - thank you for shedding light on that aspect of this.
Evangelicals have an easy time finding parts of the Bible to support their frame of mind, but they never seem to stem from direct attributions to God or Jesus.
I saw a great bumper sticker the other day -
“Jesus was the original Liberal”
Peace.

Homophobia is a mental illness, so all you ‘homo-phobes’ are SICK and need help. Your obvious obsession to intrude on the private lives of others borders on insanity.

All religions instill a sickness of one kind or another on all their adherents. Yuck! Can we ever get over the mindless ignorance?

Separatists have been splitting from “mainline” denominations and churches that forget the Originator’s Precepts since way back, as those churches have compromised with worldy interests and desires and refused to adhere to His dictates - but the truth and beauty of the first century church still remains for us to emulate, as well as the actions of many reformers and believers since.

The splits and arguments have always been over material possessions and property, even in St Paul’s time.

This is the main reason I stay away from organized religion.

noFear, whateve but BS won’t change truth.

It is not BS. Anybody who can read the Acts of the Apostles and the Pauline Epistles and conclude that the most significant things Christians do is argue over money and property is not only wrong but going to great lengths to step the focus down .

NoFear, the BS is when selected peices are used to imply ones’ autority and ignore that anyone may have another view.

It’s all a dream, folks. Anything you can postulate upon is only from what you heard, read, or dreamed up yourself. I like that song from the Grateful Dead “China Doll.” Jerry is lamenting the fragility of it all and sings… “all that I leave behind is only what I found.” You are going to leave it ALL behind, so why don’t you just knock off the bleeep and wake up?
rikoshayrabbit said, 11 months ago
The bleeep my comment was eluding to had an excremental quality to it.

Here’s some more “crap”: Why dont we just move on to one assumption, “I think; therefore I am.” DesCartes, Christian.
