    The horses were beautiful today. The Santhal tribes have a legend as to why the plow is not supposed to be used by women: it was supposedly made by their mother goddess, who had bested the father god in making it. He thence declared that the ‘burden’ of the plow was for men only and never for women.

    (Anybody else would think it misogynistic, but after seeing it in action, it seems logical, given that men tend to have more upper body strength than women)
