In Indonesian, tai means faeces. Indonesians think it’s really funny that there’s a country called Thailand.

I’m sure he did doc and I Thought that little tidbit was great.

Faeces = British spelling of “feces.”
If true, that really is pretty hilarious. I always thought it was pretty funny that there’s a dish called a Pu Pu Platter.

Thanks TheWildSow I didn’t know that. They say you learn something new every day, now I can go to bed. (It’s getting pretty near my bedtime anyway)

It’s just one of those variant British spellings.
The baby in your womb is a foetus (fetus), for surgery you might have anaesthesia, the Honour Guard carried the Colours, faeces would probably smell foetid (fetid)!
One of my sisters has been to Southeast Asia many times for he work; I’ll ask her if the Tai/Feces bit is true and post back here either way :-)

Those British spellings apply in Australia too. Just something else to learn :)

Let me add to the funnyness. Pu Pu (pronounced poo poo in Hawaii) mean tasty snacks; Pi Pi (pronounced pee pee) is a cow. So when you’re snacking on appetizers with beef here on the islands, you are eating Pee Pee Poo Poo.
(We seldom miss an opportunity to point that out, lol.)
