    Actually, the buzzard is overcharging him. A man could still change his own oil in a ‘57 Desoto. Try that with today’s cars.

    A shade tree mechanic could do just about any repair on a ‘59 (not ’57) DeSoto, with the exception of rebuilding its Torque-Flite transmission.
    How many of you remember how to adjust the point gap or set the dwell angle on an older ignition system?
    Most mechanics today can’t even work on a carburetor, and many have never seen ignition points.

    Where did Cosmo find a lawyer for $75/hour? Shoot, I paid $300/hour for a divorce lawyer over 20 years ago! Hate to think what they are getting today.

    I can’t say I blame him. Suggest one of you check to see if one of your local TV stations has a “consumer advocate.” If so, get them involved. Possible public opinion works wonders.
