At 90, George Burns was asked if his doctor knew that he smoked. "No, he’s dead.’

I’m from nearly as good a blood line. My 5x great-aunt died the day before her 104th birthday. She presented a bouquet of flowers to the Marquis de Lafayette in 1824 when she was 4.
My great-grandmom willed herself to die at 96-1/2, because she was afraid she would outlive her three sons. The third one died 3 months later.
My grandmom was 94. My mom is 84 and still easily passes for less than 60. I’ll be 50 in January 2014, and I regularly pass for my late 30s or early 40s.

My grandmother swore for many years that she did NOT want to live to triple digits. She passed away at 99 years, 4 months.
