What I don’t understand is the current trend of judges who want “a show of remorse”. It is too easy for a defense lawyer to get their client to fake it.
    .
“Boo hoo hoo. I’m sorry I got caught.” Yup. Sure serves a lot of purpose…

Was it Willie Sutton who, when asked why he robbed banks, said “Because that’s where the money is”?

Given the way the current administration is now criminalizing the very act of journalism…

    How’s this:

“You ain’t getting any freedom, because you’re in jail for life!”

It’s a sentence and it has freedom in it, so the prisoner can’t complain! LOL!

Currently a substantial portion of the ‘news’ simply amounts to libel and slander. American courts basically support those crimes, though; it is so hard to ‘prove’ them that no one will commit the resources to try.

Slander and libel are crimes nonetheless, but evidently the media is as far above the law as the government is.
