    That is almost believable.

Some years ago, we apparently had a disturbance where the police were called. Someone yelled out, ‘Hey, the donut shop’s over there!’
I don’t think the cops were impressed.

when I was in college a student had a shirt that said “DARE— to keep cops off doughnuts.”
    .
Most police would get a kick out of that. However, this was Ashland, Oregon, where the Rule of Law is something pretty well ignored and so they were offended.

Depending on old stereotypes……….It’s frightening when the creative well runs dry, isn’t it?

I once took a friend to one of Pennsylvania’s District Magistrate (justice of the peace) offices.
Parked outside the office was a Buckingham, PA police car, which had a “DARE to keep cops off donuts” sticker on the window of the cage behind the driver’s seat.

DARE was changed into an acronym for “Donut Abuse Rotundity Elimination.”

On the other hand, when I was growing up in Willow Grove, PA, the Upper Moreland Police Department had a Sgt. Duff, who appeared to sit on his duff too much. He had to go over 350#!

Might have been the same Buckingham police car that once pulled me over on suspicion of being overweight (the car, not me). Guess he ran out of donuts and had nothing better to do. Had to to wait for the scale truck to come & confirm that I was within the legal limit. Made me late for a gig.

Where does this superstition come from that ALL COPS EAT DONUTS? They are just normal people. Everyone has different dietary habits. For all we know some cops may not like donuts and prefer other snacks. I worked at a Taco Bell and I was running the drive-thru. one of the customers turned out to be a cop by the time he pulled up to pay for his food! He had turned off his CB radio!

Two cops were sitting in a do-nut shop when the phone rang….the lady on duty in the shop answered the phone “911”.

Hey Ashburn, I used to spend a lot of time at the old WG amusement park when I was growing up in SW Phila, almost 60 years ago.
