    @goalgo

    First, it’s a DeSoto, which was higher than the Plymouth (and even the Dodge). The Chrysler hierarchy at the time (from lowest to highest-priced) was Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler and Imperial.
    Second, it’s a ‘59, which wouldn’t be on the showroom floor until that September.

    If only losing weight was as easy as losing in sports……we would all be thin!

    I’ve been trying to lose all that Holiday weight myself, but in my case, the occasion was the Berlin Wall coming down.

    Yeah a very good one. It was Papa’s birthday don’cha know (Mom’s was 11/11 and my brother’s sometimes fell on easter, mine? no holiday for me) and we had moved out of the swap and onto a canal that was navigable all the way to the Atlantic via the inland waterway and the ST. Johns river. I was soon to be 10 and we still lived on the edge of the swamp with the closest neighbor miles away.

    Yep, a very good year.
