We’re all carbon-based creatures, Skyler, so you can be pretty sure it was carbon.

spirit42—you haven’t been around kids lately have you. Most of them know words that I did’t know until I was an adult and
‘fart’ is the most inert of them.

Any kid smart enough to figure out the chalkboard drawing in panel 2 is about cow farts, is probably mature enough to handle it

A cow with horns is a bull.
So, then, that rebus means “bull s**t”!

Common misconception. Cows don’t emit significant amounts of methane in their farts, which are mostly carbon dioxide. They emit the methane in their burps, the result of fermentation going on in their guts. Apparently the methane comes up with the cud.

So Buffalo Bill wasn’t a Green hero for saving the environment from all those billions of buffalo farts so much as from their belches?
