No, there really isn’t that much in common between the two parties. However, those of the Socialists like to project. Quite frankly it’s getting old.
    .
For those of you that haven’t noticed that the Left tends to do things and then dishonestly attack others, claiming that they do what they themselves are doing, here’s the definition:
    .
“Psychological projection or projection bias is a psychological defense mechanism where a person subconsciously denies his or her own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, usually to other people.”

Seems in real life it doesn’t matter about evidence, the news channels cover it but you never hear about any of them having to pay anything back or even being punished….

I think you need to turn Fox off and look at the RIGHT, which is guilty of EXACTLY what you accuse.

I’ve tried looking this up but my computer-search skills are limited.

Are there any members of the U.S. Senate or Congress that are not Republican or Democrat?

    You mean “independent” … ?

    Wikipedia says …

“Joe Lieberman and Bernie Sanders are independent but ‘caucus with the Democrats’.” (I take this to mean that they support the Democrats in votes …).

Australia currently has a “hung” Parliament at Federal level, with three key “independents” supporting the Labor party against the Liberals. (Labor is “left” and Liberal is “right” but Australian politics is much less polarised than US or UK – in my experience.)

@dukedoug (I take this to mean that they support the Democrats in votes …).

Actually, it means they have a preference for the Democratic policies, but they will (if they are true Independents) vote their consciences. - If, that is, a politician can be proven to have a conscience (no mean feat IMHO)

The reason that corruption gets shoved under the rug is akin to the old MAD nuclear option from the cold war. If either party press to hard their corruption will come out. There are only 435 corrupt members of Congress and 100 corrupt members of the Senate, the rest are clean as the driven snow.
