Since most people transfer their old land-line phone number to their cell, how would you know which you’re calling?
rshive said, 9 months ago
@TrapperJohn
This works only if you’re replacing the land line. When we first got our “portable” phones, the phone company thought that they were a passing fad. So all the area codes for phones purchased in this rather rural county were assigned as being from the more urbanized county next to us. To this day, there are still people with cell phone numbers in one area code who have land line phones in another.

I put up with a bad land-line for 5 years and finally the phone company replaced the wire. Not a small project as my house id 2900 ft from the box. About 6 months later my GF got me a cellphone and I cancelled the land-line.

Dropped my landline phone for a cellphone (prepaid minutes, no contract) over 10 years ago. No more multiple-page bills loaded with taxes, fees and charges. Don’t miss it a bit.
