    When you have 1000, 2000, 10,000, 50,000 page laws that deal with hundreds of thousands of subjects, Shoe really fits.

    Quite frankly, senator, I suggest you have some drinks and pass out. Problem solved!

    Question: If we live in a democracy in which everyone knows that our government is made up of conniving, scheming, obfuscating corrupt bastards with their noses stuck in a trough into which they pour as much money as they like (i.e. party politicians), why do we keep ending up with the same old rubbish?

    @Sen. Belfry
    Both
    Do just as the R right would do if you want Obama to be a one term president.That is, against what he’s for, and for what he’s against, so nothing positive ever gets done.
    That’s American democracy (defined as rule by the will of the people) in action., right?Thwarting him at every turn. A thing of beauty is it not?
    (This message approved by McConnell, Boehner and Cantor).

    Thanks, love. Exactly right, though MSNBC has now bestowed upon Daddy Big Bucks the title of Romney Hood, how right on is that?
    Sherwood Forest and Nottingham for the 1%!

    When Hood only ever hit the taxmen for the gluttonous govt that was bleeding everybody, I’d call the name pretty apt

    If you’re in this Congress, Senator, you won’t vote for any bills at all.

    Well, I was going to post that Belfry MUST be a republican, but I see the sentiment is pretty well explained by a few astute intelligent members here. Well done.

    Because the newly elected are just as bad as the ones they replaced. Good people, like General Powell, refuse to get involved and sell their souls, so only the corrupt continue to seek election.

    Get your “facts” straight.
    Close to half of U.S. households currently do not owe federal income tax. The Urban Institute-Brookings Tax Policy Center estimates that 46 percent of households will owe no federal income tax for 2011. 1 A widely cited figure is a Joint Committee on Taxation estimate that 51 percent of households paid no federal income tax in 2009.2 (The TPC figure for 2009 also is 51 percent.)
    Those aren’t the so called 1% not paying taxes. That’s over 1/2 the people you see every day.
