We bought the first release on VHS – two cassettes. It’s best you just throw the first one away and begin with the second.

The very best version of the Titanic story is the 1958 film A NIGHT TO REMEMBER.

New version of Titanic. The Titanic hits iceberg. Ship stays next to iceberg. Passengers leave Titanic and get on the iceberg. Iceberg sinks. Passengers die. Ship and crew make it to New York.

I have an icy, sinking feeling, about the way these comments are heading.

I would have thought the microwave would have melted the iceberg and everybody lived happily ever after. But then the movie would be titled A Night to Forget.

I’ve long held a theory about that. In the movie, Andrews said the ship could stay afloat with 4 compartments breached, but not 5 (I’m assuming Cameron was using valid information). If the ship had hit the iceberg headon after going full in reverse, crushing only her bow, could she have stayed afloat? Did attempting to port round doom that ship?
