Perfeser, just come out and ask him. I’m sure he will explain anything you need to know.

Now days they learn a lot younger and Skyler can probably give a seminar of his own on the subject.

Some day, I gotta have a looong talk with that boy. JD Calmpett kept putting it off, why shouldn’t Cosmo?

Some grownup are unprepared for this talk. I was instructed, “You don’t have to marry the girl” Hope I handle The Talk better.

Let him learn it like I did…trial and error. Good thing I didn’t make any errors.

whmill - that’s the worst possible advise anyone could give! No wonder our world is so full of intensely damaged people that have no idea how to have a good relationship and/or a good marriage!!

It’s because we didn’t get “the talk”?! Damn!

If you want to promote good marriages, the worst advice you can give someone is “Wait unitil you’re married.” All you end up with is a bunch of 18 year-olds getting married who have no idea who they are, yet…

A frank and honest talk not only about emotions and responsibility, but about biology.

Wonder what a text about the birds and bees would look like done in text!?

Kids Skylar’s age have forgotten more about sex than their elders ever knew!

Since they are birds, should that be something more like the humans and the bees?

“JD Calmpett?” BC13 you transposed two letters like I do some time.

But, like me, you probably thought “J.D. Clampett.” I got the impression that “Jed” was merely his nickname and he only had initials as his given name. I used know a man whose given initials were “H.D.” When he was a young teenager, he liked motorcycles; so, he told people that those initials stood for “Harley Davidson.” His wife did call him “Harley.”

Jed Clampett’s talks about the birds and the bees with his nephew, Jethro Bodine” were about shooting the birds and getting honey from the bees.

Daisy “Granny” Moses had her own way of telling Ellie May Clampett the facts of life. And like Ellie’s father, the talks were not about sex either.

Ah, but Ellie May had plenty of potential teachers of the ways of the wily suitor… Jethro probably did too, IIRC!

The entry in Wiki for the Beverly Hillbillies actually says Jed’s given name was mentioned once as Jedediah. Absent that bit from wiki, I would have conjectured J.D. went with “Jefferson Davis Clampett” as a given name….
