    If it were not for political correctness based on respect for others, slavery would still exist in the USA and women would merely be the property of their fathers or their husbands.

    Most of the PC now actually has to do with having respect for other people, no matter what their differences.

    If you wish to be Scripturally correct, the only people who saw the baby Jesus on the night he was born were his parents and the shepherds. No one else is mentioned being in the stable that night.

    By the time the Magi (aka Wise Men) arrived in Israel to see Jesus, he was almost 2 years old and they saw Jesus and family in a house, not in a stable.

    If you really wish to be Biblically correct from a Jewish point of View, there would be no manger scenes with figures of people and animals.

    While Matthew states that Mary was a virgin when Jesus was conceived, there is no “Virgin Mary” doctrine mentioned in the the New Testament. Besides, after Jesus was born, Mary and Joseph had several biological sons of their own.

    It is the Republicans who rooted around in the taxpayers’ monies to pay for the George W. Bush Administration’s immoral and unnecessary Iraq War.

    It is interesting that the most outspoken opponent of abortion don’t even care about what happens to the mother and her baby AFTER it is born. While they want girls and single women who have been raped or incest victims to have their babies, they don’t want funds available for those babies and their mothers so that the children and parents can be healthy.

    I don’t approve of abortion as a method of birth control; but, when the mother’s life is at stake and having a child could kill her, her life is more important.

    JoeAD ; awealth of information. I have realized all of that about the Magi, etc. But I only thought PC was just a words used type of thing. Not all of that people as property stuff.

    Every right that is practiced by someone, has the potential to infringe on someone else’s rights.

    To practice pure PC toward any group, ethnic, or otherwise would cause reverse discrimination toward another.
