    Leave it to politicians to take a concept like everyone having health insurance and turning the reality into a complete mess.

    Next up: GOP judges rule that gas prices are illegally low, and that grocery stores must double the cost of food.

    The New York Times, which strongly favours the ACA, wrote (since the ACA started) that all those who claimed they lost coverage or had to pay more were liars, that the average total out-of-pocket expense is just $82 a month, confirming President Obama’s statement that most people covered by the ACA would pay less than $100 a month.

    But now the New York Times has had to report that two Federal Courts had reached opposite conclusions about subsidies, and, without those subsidies, the average monthly payment will rise to $346. One court said the subsidies were legal, the other said they were illegal. So it’s all going to be up to the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, people in the first court’s region will still pay $82 on average, while people in the second court’s region should see a hefty increase, unless there’s some kind of a stay.

    @DaSharkie

    So let’s put in a single payer system and resolve those issues. It’s the civilized thing to do.

    Actually the ACA seems to be exceeding it’s initial goals and the cost of medical care while still increasing, is doing so at the lowest rate in recent times. Hospitals are really beginning to focus on eliminating errors and making sure they take care of you so you don’t end up returning to the ER for the same problem or something you picked up in the hospital. It is actually looking good.

    And if they are still willing to work for you, then that should be an agreement between you and them and none of the governments business.

    When they claim that they believe in their hearts that birth control methods are abortifacients, and the court pats them on the head and says that’s all that matters, something is indeed rotten.
