    Has nothing to do with “justice” or “prejudice” or “rights.” Has everything to do with morality, something currently dying in this country and the world in general. It will only get worse before it gets better, as predicted.

    As I said over at Jerry Holbert:
    Marriage is a fraud promulgated by both government and religion/superstition which use it to control people.

    My morality encompasses the very things you negate makes one wonder what yours is based upon.

    Thirteen states, including all of the New England states and New York, along with Canada now allow gay marriage. I don’t see our civilization crumbling.

    Laws grant equality the same way laws prevent crimes. You can write laws for anything but they will do no good until the mindset of the people change. the Law may have change but the people’s attitude has not.

    neither did the Roman Empire before it fell. They where openly into the same sex partners shortly before they collapse from immorality and the vast public intitlements of thier time.

    @antiquetracman

    from the Bible, a book written by men, about an imaginary friend…. have peace within yourself to foster peace to others…. kindness is the best ‘religion’

    @Genome Project

    1) Genome, I believe it is primarily the conservative bible-belt states that have the laws you describe, not the New England states

    2)Kevin and Antiquetracman, please explain to us how allowing gay people the right to marry will cause the demise of civilization. Do you think that someone will force you and your spouses to divorce and turn gay? Do you think that some deity will rain destruction on the U. S. ? Please set us ignorant liberals straight on exactly how and why legalized gay marriage will cause the collapse of western civilization.

    I don’t think you quite understand how and why the Roman empire fell. Lack of morality had little to do with it, and it was mostly Christian by the time it collapsed. Its political structure was a mess from a sequence of (usually) incompetent emperors, its borders were stressed by increasing numbers of powerful tribes, and its upper class suffered the debilitation that comes from chronic lead poisoning (they cooked their foods in, and drank from, lead vessels.

    to answer 2) Actually, as we’ve aready seen in at least four charged cases that I know of, we get jailed for “anti homosexual hate speech” if we so much as refuse to have sex with them, so pretty much forcing people to convert to homosexuality yes.

    And as you prove with every attack, your idea of freedom from my religions is my religion banned and your’s enforced at federal gunpoint.

    @cubefarmer

    Are you saying that four people were charged with crimes for refusing to have sex with gay people? I know of no civil rights organization that advocates for any obligation to have sex with ANYONE. Where did people get jailed for such refusals? Who were they? Sources, please.
