Don’t want to see damage in Tampa, or Florida, but, interesting that storms rarely have “biblical” names, but this one may be heading for “hypocrite central”?

Hurricane Sarah destroyed the last Republican convention.
Republicans know how to handle hurricanes, just think of GW Bush and Katrina.

Where, o where, is our most recent ex-president, anyway?

What a perfect opportunity to celebrate the invasion of Iraq.

If they all get tapped in the convention center, it will be out of Golding’s “Lord of the Flies”.

It’s too early to tell at this time just where this storm will head – and it could miss Tampa altogether, or just give it a storm surge. Even we here on the Space Coast (which is opposite from Tampa, BTW) are gearing up as if it’s going to come onshore in Tampa.
Besides, Tampa is way overdue for a hit by Hurricane, so this just could be karma.

^Well, as it’s the Republicans, it won’t be the “Karma Sutra”! (and no skinny dippinig either!)

I really don’t think storms have memories of where the last ones hit and choose their paths accordingly.

@DrCanuck
Kahneman has a section on “way overdue” thinking in “Thinking, Fast and Slow”.

No, they don’t… but they sometimes end up doing that anyway. That’s why we have weather satellites up in Space – to warn us humans ahead of time to protect ourselves.

Used to be called the Gambler’s Fallacy until Kahnmann re-invented that wheel.
(Does he call it that? Heider’s term, I think.)

^Oh, get real! It was the REPUBLICANS who went batshite on disclaiming Akins, because he summed up their platform in language “Americans” could relate to.
