As opposed to Bush who said, “Start another totally invalid war!”

This reminds me of Body of Lies. Sure Leo is in it, but it does make a good point.
The military industrial complex needs war to make money so they keep it going at the same time the people on the ground are trying to end the madness. Its an ongoing saga with no end in sight.

When I was a Imagery Interpreter in ‘nam, we would find lucrative vulnerable targets and nominate them for strike. BUT LBJ had final authority and had to see the pics first. By then the target was gone, and planes got shot down blowing holes for buffalo wallows.

This is different, oldlego. But I fear he’s stalling because he’s trying to think up a believable justification for staying. I suspect he’s trying to stay because the corporate powers want to stay. And no president I’ve ever seen can stand up to them for long.

He is stalling for the poll numbers–he has been told what is required and has had security meetings. He would rather send out pundits to attack Fox and get the news off of Afghanistan, unemployment, stimulus and so on.

And you wingnuts were bleeeping at W for ignoring the war for 7 years when?…..
Oh… you only care about it now when it’s more politically convenient. Shameless twits!

Y’all did notice that that’s an 8 ball he’s holding?

I’ve heard of the 8-ball as it’s always referenced in some movie or show but had no real idea what it was apart from it being some sort of fortune-cookie. Now I know it is a more sophisticated fortune-cookie. ;-) Thanks.

Thanks, nomad. I didn’t know the whole history behind it.

I used to keep mine on the night stand and use it decide if I should bother getting out of bed in the morning. ;)

It’s a 8 ball, how did you think he got his magic?

Gives Osama too much credit as CINC.
He actually is simply focus-grouping to see what it is he needs to say to deceive most voters into nodding their heads absently at him before they return to watching “The View” and “American Idol” and “Oprah”…

behind the eightball - i suspect he’s being careful to act intelligently and morally in the best interest of humanity as opposed to his predecessor who acted selfishly and blindly.

Whatever. I love the “shuka shuka shuka” sound effect painted onto the cartoon. That is as good as anything Don Martin ever used in MAD magazine to emphasize his own satire…

Frito… we get it you hate him. You hate everyone that’s not a wingnut or a Christian. We get it.

pretty keen observation there scott
stantis is one of my favorites - this toon is so layered - visually complex and richly, cunningly political
