Guess Stantis is of the mindset that we shouldn’t pay our bills and that you can run a country on rainbows and unicorns.

You must be one of those that got enough money to buy a bank, or give yourself or some of your friends a multimillion dollar bonus.
If you are an “average joe” like me, yes the amount and degree of stupidity this administration has shown in this bailout stuff is mindbogglingly stupid. They apparently aren’t even aware it was probably a setup to begin with. Just like the rolling blackouts in California when Bush first won.

The lamestream media had Obama’s first hundred day assessment written already in November 2008

All we gotta do is keep lowering taxes!!! Isn’t it obvious?

Yes, this is what I see my eyes like when I look in a mirror. We live in Texas for a year on what CA. and N.Y. use in a month, maybe less.

Funny it was ok when Bush Cheney used for killings of more people the republican party says it ok to kill with the money but it is wrong to use it to save the ecomony. guess Obama fault lies he to good of a person and wants to help the little people who always bear the blunt of the republican party. remember when we do get out afghan and iraq with in a few years they go back to the same kind of government they had before we save them history has proven this to be true over again and again

Etocme? are proof positive of how much the “education system” in this country is in need of a major overhaul, by “someone” who has a plan. Just say NO doesn’t cut it.
,Obama has a plan. Please, can any one of the above marked (?) contributors give us ANY plan from your “NO” buddies ? (19 blank pages is NOT a plan.)

I /wish/!
“If you are an “average joe” like me, yes the amount and degree of stupidity this administration has shown in this bailout stuff is mindbogglingly stupid.”
Guess Bush shouldn’t have approved of all them bailouts, then…
(Of course, a bailout is a loan and there’s no reason to assume that we’re not going to get the money back, nor is there no reason to assume that we’re going to get it ALL back, but focusing only on raw numbers on the payouts only is naive.)

danielsangeo:
No, nobody should have approved the bailouts.
If it was all “loans”, then were did the money come from, possibly partially from my pocket?
If it was a loan from my pocket to the banks, then where is the interest I should receive when the “loan” is payed back?
When the loan is payed back, the government will get the principle AND interest and I will get nothing.
How do you figure this was a “loan”, in any sense of the word?
And no, it is not naive. Neither the principle nor interest will ever be returned to me. I am just plain out that much. Just that simple.
The bankers just took my money using the government as the “thief” and made more money with it to cover their incompetence.
In any situation not involving the government, it would be easy for any prosecuter to make a case for conspiracy to defraud.

“When the loan is payed back, the government will get the principle AND interest and I will get nothing.”
So, when the government gets the money, it just vanishes? You, personally, may not “get cash” back, but that does NOT mean that you will “get nothing”.

“Obama whines, “I inherited this deficit”, then proceeds to TRIPLE IT!”
“You know…Reagan proved deficits don’t matter.” –Dick Cheney (Dec 2002)
Perhaps you didn’t know that, according to economists, deficits aren’t inherently bad. It is what the money that contributed to the deficit was spent on.
Imagine this: If I borrowed money to buy a vehicle which enables me to make more money, that’s what, in the real world, is called an “investment”. The money I borrowed and spent led to greater profitability (good deficit spending) and, in turn, enabled me to pay off that debt. However, if I borrowed the exact same amount of money and bought a huge television and sat on my behind eating potato chips, that wouldn’t lead anywhere (bad deficit spending) and couldn’t pay off the debt when it came due.
What Obama complained about is NOT the fact that we’re deficit spending, but that we did BAD deficit spending over the last 8 years.
Unless you’re one of those people who think we shouldn’t spend money to pay our bills….

NO ONE should have approved the IRAQ war
NO ONE should have approved bush.
NO ONE should approve of the repubicans. You started this, now WE have to live with it. You voted for him, live with the aftermath. Preferably with your mouth closed.
