Again the distortion of facts to the point of intellectual dishonesty.

Daschle OUT already, fell on his sword so to speak, at Oboy’s direction.
fennec said, 9 months ago
We don’t really know at whose direction, Oldlego. Maybe it was his own decision. Wait for the data before you pass judgment.

I understand Tom took his cue to skidoo from the NYT.

Stantis could have included a lot of Republicans in there, too. The “giving money to non-taxpayers” is simply wrong, wrong, wrong.

scott seems to be saying tax evasion is a partisan issue … nope, don’t think so … i repeat myself … let all 535 members of congress submit their last 7 years of tax filings to the same nonpartisan source and then we’ll talk

oh just can’t resist, though i’m revealing my years … ya’ll remember back in the ’70s when Reagan was Gov. of California … he increased CA state income taxes and made a public statement that “Taxes should hurt.” Turned out to bite him in the butt when it was later revealed he hadn’t paid ANY state income taxes for two years … YES … this is all true, you can google it … yeah, I was actually an adult in the ’70s

I’m with you bcs, although not too sure we could handle the truth.

believecommonsense, (“bcs” I like that) then welcome to the club.
claudermilk said, 9 months ago
bcs put more clearly what I was pointing out. This is not a one-sided issue. There’s guys with the same issue with both “R” and “D” beind their names. It also seems to me every set of cabinet-appointess runs into these kinds of issues, nothing new here.

If you came out of the Reagan Years a loser well maybe you……
fennec said, 9 months ago
bcs, I also was an adult in the ‘70’s and a state employee of Gov. Reagan. You remembered right on! When he was elected prez, all I could say was omigawd!

claudermilk … good point, did your read that the Reps are now paying Joe the tax evader Plumber to come and talk to them about what “real Americans’ think … just gotta love it
fennec … i worked in CA legislature during mid 70s to early 80s. I saw some pluses and minuses in Reagan’s column. I didn’t like some of his policies but I did see that he would compromise when presented with facts … something right wing zealots don’t do today, they invent facts to their POV. … and i will give Reagan credit when his legal evasion of state income taxes was revealed, he told his acct. that he didn’t care how legal the loopholes were, he would never again pay no state income taxes … read Lou Cannon’s biography of Reagan; Cannon covered him for decades as reporter when Reagan became prez i wasn’t pleased, but thought I’d watch to see what he actually did … a cue right wing zealots should take with Obama, IMHO
