A self-taught artist, Bell graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in political science. His award-winning editorial cartoons have appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, Oakland Tribune and on "60 Minutes." He started out as the illustrator of Rudy Park along with writer Theron Heir, and now he does both the art and writing. He also creates the daily comic strip Candorville.

Well, that’s what Sadie called those reddish, rotten fruit she found growing and decaying in abundance in the Outback! Botonists are still not sure what these “fruit” are.

Fugitive in the Outback? LOL!
I think there’s been more Sadie backstory in the four or five months of Darrin writing it, than there was in the first ten years of Theron writing it. Things I never knew about Sadie before: She grew up in a cole mining community where she bullied the other kids, she’s always sucked at Needlepoint, she’s single-handedly responsible for both Amelia Aerhardt’s disappearance AND the Hindenberg disaster, she fought with the Royal Australian Airforce during WW2, and (presumably as a consequence) she spend time as a fugitive in the Australian Outback.
