Had a dog like that. She served all her meals the same way, whether it was possum, squirrel, mouse, rat, etc.

We had a cat do the same, not with regular cat food in the dish, but if you gave her a little piece of meat or something, she’d hold it in her teeth, than shake her head a few times, like breaking its neck, before chowing down on it.
