    It’s all in the naming - if they had used ‘alloferine’ instead of just saying ‘poison’ it might have passed for a food preservative…

    @ DF: Actually it’s the ALAR the grower sprayed on it. It breaks down into unisymmetrical dimethyl hydrazine, a cancer-causing agent. After 40 years, it still remains legal in the U.S., excepting N.Y. and Mass. Uniroyal is the manufacturer. Peel those apples!
