I live where those things come from. They call them “sparrow hornets” around here. I was stung once, and never want to repeat!

I’m not normally creeped out by bugs; I usually catch spiders and release them. However, centipedes DO creep me out!

Ewwww a centipede! Once I found one of them in my bed as I was fixing to go to bed, and tried to catch it. It went under the bed. I decided to sleep on the sofa that night.

This is so timely! I was driving to work this morning, going 70 on the highway, and dropped the visor to combat the sun glare. A cricket fell off the visor into my lap. I have to admit – I PANICKED! Still not sure how I managed to make it to work in one piece.

Hope she’s not mixing up a centipede with a millipede. We have the millipedes where I work at and at first I thought they were centipedes until I looked it up. The most you have to worry about from a millipede is if you try to pick it up, it’ll slime you with this yellow stuff that will just irritate your skin if you don’t wash it off right away. I always use a piece of paper and let them crawl onto it, then take them outside.

I like centipedes. They’re so funny when they walk/wiggle.

I’m very afraid of spiders and I get weird colorful ones where I live. Ewwww! Of course I’m also afraid of centipedes/millipedes.

I never heard of being afraid of centipedes/millipedes. After looking centipedes up on Google, however, I guess I’d better add them to my list of things not to cuddle up with.

This must be ‘critter week’ in the comics. In the version of ‘One Big Happy ’ that runs on the WashPost website, a squirrel got into the house of Ruthie’s grandparents. Grandmother is standing there with a broom, while Ruthie’s Dad says ‘hold on, Ma.’ Just after Ruthie reasurres her Grandmother that her Dad will know what to do, Dad comes back — with a camera — and hollers ‘action!’
