    Enjoy life now. It gets harder to do when you get older.

    Would right-out/fielder be the area where the ball RARELY ever gets hit towards unless the batter is on the right side of the home plate…??

    Feel free to correct me because I not too familiar with baseball…

    Well, we now see that his imaginary Guardian Angel is not doing his job.

    This is why I hated baseball — it was so boring. Most of the time was spent waiting around — waiting for the ball to come your way, waiting for your turn at bat. Boring.

    @Zero-Gabriel

    It would depend on which way you’re looking at home plate to determine right/left side, but in essence you’re correct. Right field statistically gets the least balls hit to it because it’s left-handed power hitters who pull the ball to right field, and there are less left-handed batters than right-handed ones.

    I remember those days when my son was in peewee baseball. The coach (and parents) were always yelling out to the outfielders to stand up, quit digging in the dirt, face the batter, pay attention.

    As Paul Stookey says, “playing right field it’s easy yeah know. You can be awkward, and you can be slow….”

    BradyB66: true dat, though SOME right-handed batters seem to place the balls into right field regularly.

    Kids regularly hit the ball into right field. Coaches yell to pay attention so they don’t beaned by the ball or hit directly in the chest. My husband and I coached Dixie Youth for 6 years (I was in charge of the dugout and keeping the books). We saw so many fluke things happen it was amazing. Always had the new team added to the league each age group due to us being baby boomers and our son a part of the next big group. We always called it “the expansion team”. Always lost games most of the first year and did better the second. The last year we decided not to have any players with bad attitudes – went undefeated!

    I’ll take a butterfly over playing baseball any day of the week, but I’ll WATCH a baseball game if I can.
