Rose is Rose presents the extraordinary nature of everyday life as seen through the eyes of the Gumbo family. The strip stars child-at-heart Rose and her ASD (Attentiveness Surplus Disorder) husband Jimbo. Their gentle son Pasquale is watched over by his Guardian Angel who morphs from tiny cherub into gargantuan protector. Family kitten Peekaboo boasts that her humans are the cutest in town. Readers relish the romance in Rose and Jimbo's marriage, yet cheer the emergence of Rose's rebel alter ego, the fearless, wild and ready-to-roll Vicki the Biker

Go to YouTube, “Rose is Rose” readers, and find “The 12 Pains of Christmas” (the first thing thereof is finding a Christmas tree).

we used to get a real tree until 1959.
a 1957 set of lights took the tree and a tacky 50’s parlor set with it.

As a kid I never enjoyed the buying of the tree. It was always in the evening after Dad got off work. The temperature was always below freezing and it was always breezy. Dad knew the owner and they would chat, out doors, for what seemed like all evening. For some reason, I’ve always preferred the artificial trees.

So far, the past two weekends have been really rainy. We put up the artificial tree this year.

Or, as they say in that nether world between England and France, bring a torch, Jeannette Isabella…

In the 1960’s we had one of those metallic trees with a light device that would shine green, blue and red on it.

Granted, I have used an artificial tree, but I have also considered trees with root balls. Our neighbors have done this for years and have many beautiful trees. Considering the Global Warming problem the future generations may breathe easier with more trees. An attractive living oxygen giving CO2 absorbing tree of equal cost is better in an abandon lot than an expensive dead tree in the city dump.

Root ball trees are all well nd good if you have enough yard, not really an option for most renters either. That’s why we use the recyling program in town that turns old trees into mulch. They use it in the city parks and from what I’ve been told, it actully saves them quite a bit of money (the have free curb side pick up for the trees on certain dates for that very reason.) I’d suggest looking into in your area.
