Corky has a fancy office job and Jimbo goes to work in a plaid shirt with a lunch bucket, yet they live side by side in the same neighborhood.Neither wives work and they each have 1 child…both must have great paying jobs.

Their wives “work,” just not outside the home. Raising kids is the most important work there is! Instead of “working mothers” and “non-workng mothers” why don’t we call them “part-time mothers” and “full-time mothers?”

As a divorced mother who has no choice but to work outside the home in order to make sure that my childern are taken care of and provided for, I find this statement extremely INSULTING. I wish I had had the luxury of being a stay-at -home mom, but circumstances did not allow it. And just to be clear, I am a full-time mother even though I work outside the home! My sons and I are very close and they are happy and well-mannered.
You may be oldest, but definitely NOT wisest!

@nikki….well put. Funny how those who have never had to do without are the first one’s to judge others who have to struggle to survive. I’m willing to bet that this “oldest” and their cheerleader Kydex are two such people.

As a stay at home mom I see the point Oldest is making, calling you a part time mom is no more insulting than saying I don’t work because I don’t get paid for my job. I don’t think Oldest was suggesting that we do that, but that if you’re going to say at home moms don’t work, then you can just as easily say that working moms aren’t full time moms. All moms work very hard. Stay at home moms are blessed & fortunate to be able to be there full time any time their kids need them. Working moms have a minimum of 2 jobs that they need to be great at. Diminishing either type of mother is insulting.
