Rose is Rose presents the extraordinary nature of everyday life as seen through the eyes of the Gumbo family. The strip stars child-at-heart Rose and her ASD (Attentiveness Surplus Disorder) husband Jimbo. Their gentle son Pasquale is watched over by his Guardian Angel who morphs from tiny cherub into gargantuan protector. Family kitten Peekaboo boasts that her humans are the cutest in town. Readers relish the romance in Rose and Jimbo's marriage, yet cheer the emergence of Rose's rebel alter ego, the fearless, wild and ready-to-roll Vicki the Biker

A true dancer hears the music in her head.

Has anyone followed this strip from the beginning?
Is Mimi fighting cancer, or is her hair abnormally late?

Mimi has never had hair, and it’s probably my lone complaint about the strip. It’d be much easier to draw if she didn’t have to always have gender-based outfits to let you know she’s a girl.

Mimi will be the youngest contestant on DWTS!

There are a LOT of little girls who are like that. I know of twin girls who, at age 3, still had scant hair, and my friend’s granddaughter had strawberry blonde whisps until she was about 7. My own second daughter, even with hair, was always confused for a boy as a baby!

Either her parents shave her head or Mimi has alopecia or something.

Pasquale was like that in the very early days of the strip – you have to sound out each syllable (sometimes two or three times) to figure out his punchline.

And sometimes, even after all that, I still couldnt figure it out.

My mom tells me I was bald when I was a baby. She used Karo syrup to hold little bows on my head before they had the nice elastic bands. My ears were pierced and I wore dresses, and I was still clled a pretty little boy.

Bald until two runs in my family, apparently. Still, even when the youngest finally had hair, he and his year and a half older sister were mistaken for twins and gender misaligned constantly … we made bad jokes .. LOL

My 2 had full heads of straight dark hair when they were born, then it went blonde & curly. One day when my son was 2 & my daughter 5 or 6 we were told we had the most beautiful daughters. Son got his first haircut shortly thereafter LOL.

Yeah, I had a cousin who stayed bald the first couple of years. My aunt would tape bows on her head so people would know she was a girl.
In the old strips, half the fun was trying to interpret what Pasquale said.

I was born with a full head of hair and sideburns. My great grandmother from Croatia got all superstitious and thought I was a werewolf. (hehehehe)
