Just yesterday, I assumed an unplugged lamp had blown a gasket.

Awwww, Her boy should let her think he fixed it for her. No need to burst her bubble of pride and make her feel foolish.
I thought I had broken my little space heater a few days ago. It had come unplugged.
My husband went to see what was wrong with my mom’s printer. It had got turned off.
It’s always something.

I did the same thing last week, fixed Mum’s laptop and left her place with half the contents of her liquor cabinet for the doing it, I scored a bottle of Napoleon brandy, two bottles of Merlot and a small bottle of saki and usually don’t charge that much.

I ‘fixed’ the snowblower my grandson was trying to start for 15 minutes. Took the key off the rack, inserted it in the machine and turned it to the on position. started on the first pull.

My back went out last night (enter “Where did it go?” joke here). I can’t even put on my own shoes!
The toon you see today was reworded but I never got the energy to put the new one on. I don’t like this one so much.

I know the feeling. Ice 15 on 15 off on the first day then heat same times after that works for me.

I have done minor things for some family to fix their computers. More times than not it was merely a wrong setting. Now, a lot of the family thinks I am some sort of computer guru. My son does a little more than I do. Now both of us calls when someone has a computer problem. Me? I just refer them to my son….

I had a similar experience while on vacation in Miami last month. I could not get on the internet with my laptop. I tried several times at the hotel and again at my friends house. I kept getting the message “no available networks”. The wifi light was on and everything. Turns out the light is orange when the wifi is turned off (I turned it off on the plane) and white when it is turned on (never turned it back on). I didn’t figure it out until we were back home in Chicago. I’m usually the go to gal for figuring out the computer stuff. This time, not so much.
Good luck in the Cartoon Contest, Derrick! Hope you find your back soon. You might want to investigate Plods with beer. I think he’s the one whose got your back :)
