Wow, something I never considered and I love time travel stories. Maybe put some type of ballast on your time machine, just in case. Then you can maneuver, kind of like a submarine.

That’s something to take into account. Where I live, in Northern Utah, it was under water tens of thousands of years ago. Geologists call it Lake Bonneville. You can see the high-water mark on the mountains to the East.
