Colorado school, armed deputy, only one shot, but it’s still one shot. BTW: there were also armed guards at Columbine, didn’t stop it. Armed guard at the Holocaust museum, first person shot. Tucson, armed guy did NOT draw, probably saved his and others’ lives by focusing on getting the shooter down without using a firearm.

Just considering some considering before the NRA types fire themselves up on this one.

    Really Robby?
I know you like to be over-the-top, and to the extreme Left, but this is just sick.
So responsible gun owners are celebrating at the site of the murder of 20 schoolchildren?
If one of those victims were my kid and you showed me your little “toon”, I’d be in prison.

An odd cartoon considering I’ve read of quite a number of gun control bills being passed, both loosening and tightening gun control.

That’s your response to a cartoon—threatening violence? I seem to recall a similar situation with muslims and Danish cartoonists…

I see the right-wing gun nuts are out in force (as they are at every cartoon pointing out the obvious). Lots of heartfelt concern for the poor abused gun lobby and manufacturers, and for the paranoids who own them; not so much for the people slaughtered by them.
As has been pointed out before, those of you who want god, guns, and no government really would be a lot happier in Somalia.

Your over emotional reaction to a Opinion piece is exactly why we must remove the conservatives from any power. It is exactly why I don’t mind a government run by Barack monitoring cell phone usage; I know his party won’t use it to further their political stance. I’d be worried as hell with a Bush led government doing the same, because of your prejudice, bigoted attitude is the stencil for all conservatives. And, Yes, the NRA is celebrating the the passage of a year with out the populace finally realizing we need to grow up and put away our murderous toys.

How is that an alternate universe when these are verifiable events?

Conserve…While I understand your response to this, I believe this is just a cartoon juxtaposition of events illustrating that the gun lobby is celebrating, not at the site of this dreadful event, but with no discernible concern for it. Unfortunately, your last line, “…I’d be in prison” makes the point for those I think are your opposition. Everybody’s a responsible gun owner right up until they meet something, or someone, they don’t like enough. If your nickname reflects that you are a political and / social conservative, your last line does not conserve anyone’s freedom but the bullies’.

    Which is the better correlation:

The Sandy Hook tragedy and guns
The Sandy Hook tragedy and apple pie?

Mikefive: interesting the “NRA types” talk about gun laws, but don’t mention that a large percentage make gun ownership EASIER!

    Japan: 0.6 guns per 100 people, 4 gun homicides per 130,000. U.S. : 88 guns per 100 people, 4,600 gun HOMICIDES per 130,000 people.

Nope, no evidence whatsoever that more guns = more gun violence. BTW: guns aren’t totally illegal in Japan, just VERY RIGIDLY controlled, and yes, more regulated than I see as necessary for the U.S., but we DO need that “well regulated” to mean something as stated by SCOTUS in “Heller vs D.C.”.

I genuinely hope that any and all firearms are outlawed, just to see the collective expressions on all the idealistic ass hats that really believe gun violence will magically go away.

Ahem. I believe this cartoon refers to the tone-deaf NRA tweets about buying guns for Christmas and “celebrating” gun ownership right after the latest shooting — and within a short time of the Sandy Hook anniversary.
Don’t know why you gun-fans are getting so up in arms — you’ve won EVERY DAMN BATTLE TO CONTAIN NUTS WITH GUNS for twenty years.
