About the only thing the conservatives major in here is negativity.

I’m only complaining about the GOP in congress and their systematic assaults on students, women, the poor, minorities, gays, and the middle class. The GOP’s only constituency in the future will be corporations, banks, and the unborn – none of whom, they’ll discover too late, can VOTE.

Not so – I think Obama’s way too cozy with the GMO industry. But the GOP’s looking at extinction because of their indifference to the 99%. Indifference and direct and indirect attacks on us – people who VOTE. Wise up, PAJ.

    OK, lets pick this apart:

Assaults on students? The House wanted a bill that permanently bound the student loan interest rate to bank loan rates. Dems in the Senate fought it and only wanted a 1 year extension.

No one made you go to private school for degree in 17th Century French Lesbian Literature and have no use to society. No one made you take out loans. Get a job or two, live at home, and work your way through college. While you are at it, just do your first 2 years of basic classes at a Community College and save more while you live at home.

Colleges, which are predominantly liberal leaning, have expanded the buildings, number of administrators, and salaries of those same people dramatically in the past 2 decades. Someone has to pay for it.

Heck, Sen. Elizabeth Warren D-MA made $150,000 per semester at Harvard for teaching 1 class, on 1 day per week. Is it any wonder why college is exhorbitantly and unnecessarily expensive?

Women? What War on Women? Just wanting limitations on WHEN an abortion can be performed. Libs have no problem putting limitations on Constitutionally guaranteed rights. No birth control $4 prescriptions covered by insurance. You want it? pay for it.

The poor? 40 years of the War on Poverty, same rate of US Citizens are still poor. The poor are confined to living in certain areas with crappy schools, and many in cities with high murder rates, and no opportunity. ANd I see so many states pushing for lotteries and legalized gambling. Gambling and lotteries, along with cigarette taxes disproportionately affect the poor.

Gays? Eh, can’t really argue with that one.

Middle Class? Live within your means. Tax increases invariably affect the middle class. Gas taxes, excise taxes, etc., Why are the Dems against a flat tax? Or a consumption tax? A “progressive” tax is actually regressive.

The Dems constituency are those that receive money from the government every month, those that came into this country illegally and were given amnesty to bring their family into this nation, and those that think the Government is the cure to all of society’s ills.

So much for pulling one’s self up by the boot straps and pushing forward. Nope, cannot do it without the government helping me.

Boy you know how to twist facts to make your lies seem like good ‘ole common sense. Learn that from the GOP training manual?
Self reliance is great, but it does not depend on ’Pulling one’s self up by his/her own boot straps’, that is a common good old boy myth. Most who have supposedly done so have actually had help, luck and timing that fell just right and many who were just as well capable missed the boat for the exact same reasons. In society after society it has been the support of the family and friends that has made possible the great success of capable individuals. It is the group that has made individuals successful who in turn have benefited the group. The more the group benefits the more individuals can be successful. But those who believe they ‘Have pulled themselves up by their own boot straps’ have no allegiance to a group. Their allegiance is to the greed the grows from this self delusion. They benefit no one else and actually become a drain on society.
The time of “I” has waned, if we want to see the US grow forward we need to realize the time of the team is upon us.

    @msowards

Thank you. It’s amazing to see so many conservative/tea party myths distilled into one post, as we’ve just seen from DaSharkie. It’s unsurprising that Rick Santorum’s anti-intellectual, anti-college, anti-student beliefs have been adopted by DaSharkie and others here – they regard a university education as elitist and irrelevant and inferior to one from a community college or some cow college. Maybe a degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg would be useless and inferior to the Cow College, but the rest will give a serious student a solid foundation for the future. DaSharkie has the gall to ask “What war on women?” I mean is it possible that a real man cannot see what Texas (for example) is trying to do to women? DaSharkie thinks the entire legislation has only to do with a woman’s right to terminate an abortion after 20 weeks because of this pseudo-science about fetuses and pain, which, uh, REAL SCIENTISTS think is wrong. And for some reason he decided to forego taking a swipe at gays – he agrees with me that the GOP’s position on gays is what is intrinsic to the whole right wing philosophy: marginalize them, arrest them, legislate against them, hate them. That’s the GOP. The rest of his post is just more garbage.

Really? Like the outrageous increase in college is Liberal Democrats fault? Republicans cut taxes for the Rich, defund education because we now can’t afford it, this causes tuition and student loans to soar, and its the Democrats fault? Of course entry level workers up to to their eye balls in debt being much more docile was not a considered benefit? You righties are goobers.

@PAJ WOW—a reward for three peas in a pod. I see you did not elaborate on their spins, motive.

PAJ, just because all the words you use in a sentence are in the same language doesn’t mean they make sense. Did you even make it to junior college? Is all your unfocused, illiterate fury against higher education merely jealousy? If you were young – and I strongly sense that you’re not – I’d dismiss your simplemindedness as adolescent petulance and let it go at that. But you do a real disservice to conservatives trying to communicate with the real world because you’re a clown and they’re at least trying to think logically and express themselves eloquently. But the clowns outnumber them and scream more loudly; and the right wing clowns are the only conservatives anyone remembers.
