Yes, the very true and REAL world the NRA doesn’t want people thinking about.

Consider how many people drive a car vs. how many own a gun and then of often they’re used.

You mean the one where criminals use illegally obtained weapons to commit crimes.

Yes we would, because Chicago, Los Angeles and Detroit would still have gun crime and they have the highest level of gun control in the country.

It’s a cheerless commentary on our society and its subcultures that murders are so casually committed and accepted. Equally sad is that everyone has become so inured to murders that we treat them with such nonchalance.

That is accurate. I wondered why the death of 3 in Boston got so much more coverage than did West, Texas. to extrapolate using “Mexican-Americans” and “dirt poor farmers” instead of “young Black people”
    and there’s the answer.

Motor vehicle crashes are known as “accidents” for a reason. There are no “accidents” when someone goes into a school and starts shooting little kids.

So if you die in an ACCIDENTAL explosion, it’s okay?
I have a better equation for you-
Boston— caused by a foreigner (Islamic angle; great for controversy, good ratings- hype it up!)
Texas— caused by an American company (possible negligence in a state with lax regulations; might make business look bad- bury it!)

Actually, you can’t blame the NRA on this one, but perhaps the local tourism board and the Chamber of Commerce.

Back in the 1990s, it was not uncommon to go to a hotel in San Francisco and find many of the local TV stations blocked on your hotel room TV.

The reason why was because the local news always had reporting on who was killed either in Hunter’s Point, the Tenderloin or out in Oakland.

And the Hoteliers out there thought that the local news coverage would upset their guests and eventually would kill tourism in San Francisco, which it didn’t.

So you can’t blame the NRA on that one.

Instead, you can blame it on people who were so self-conscious about the image of San Francisco being shown on local TV that they were afraid that tourists and out-of-towners weren’t going to visit any more if they saw what was on the local newscasts.

Since it occurred in a poor black neighborhood your immediate conclusion is that it was a drug deal gone bad! Your racism is clearly evident!
