    Congress is afraid of the NRA more than it is of normal, rational people.

    If a hundred children a day were shot down in the street, NRA would still not change their view. A wholly amoral organization. They will bring down America given in time. It’s starting already. Deaths mean NOTHING so long as they can still caress their weapons. We’ll all pay the price for their indecency.

    NBC 3.24.13
    WAYNE LAPIERRE, NRA CHAIR: Let me give you the real sad thing, though. Let me hold up a mirror, right now, to the whole national news media and the White House. I just got the track data from Syracuse University on the enforcemenof federal gun laws. Last time I was here I brought it from 2011, it just came out for 2012. Do you know where Chicago ranks in terms of enforcement in federal gun laws? Out of 90 jurisdictions in the country, they ranked 90th. Why doesn’t NBC News start with “Shocking news on Chicago. Of all the jurisdictions in the country, Chicago is dead last enforcement of the federal gun laws.”? Why doesn’t the National Press Corps, when they’re sitting down there with Jay Carney and the President and the Vice President, why don’t they say, “Why is Chicago dead last in the enforcement of gun laws against gangs with guns, felons with guns, drug dealers with guns?”

    DAVID GREGORY, NBC NEWS HOST: And support those as felonies? As being tried as felonies?

    LAPIERRE: Absolutely.
    the NRA has worked decades trying to get laws enforced to keep mentally ill from getting guns; has tried for decades to get gun laws enforced by the feds and by local authorities;
    and the Media and the Administration and the anti-gun campaigns prove they care less about safety for Americans than about voiding the 2nd Amendment right for normal Americans to own a gun or many guns with the right to also buy ammo. I agree with the NRA. So do a lot of other Americans.
