    Might we be aware with this idiotic theme going WAY overboard, to the level of insanity, if not inane, that “W” was still whacking golf balls when Afghanistan, and yes, Iraq, were invaded. He only later switched to cutting brush “in respect for the troops”, HAR!

    Oh, right, Obama fails because we haven’t gone to war with Syria, Russia, Iran, Iraq again, and of course, Mexico.

    You forgot the Canadians (undoubtedly an oversight on your part).

    We need to kill more of our young people in countries that don’t want us there.

    The only way to get out of that trap is to get somebody else elected.
    Hey, it worked for Truman,Eisenhower, Johnson, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush.
    (Kennedy and Nixon went a bit overboard in passing on their foreign policy problems)

    Hey, I like not going to war just fine! I guess Nebulous figures every President needs his own war. Or maybe he just hate golf because he has a high handicap?

    “The war was won for the most part, it takes real lack of talent to screw it up this bad!”

    Except that it wasn’t. The US had committed itself to a withdrawal timetable. The “insurgents” would have taken that opportunity regardless of when troops withdrew. The war was lost before we invaded the nation that had nothing to do with the attacks on our country.

    Okay, if not for “W” and Cheney/Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz et al, that group of a few hundreds of people called “Al Qaeda”, wouldn’t have had the cause of Afghanistan and an insane invasion of Iraq, to build that small base (the meaning of the term btw) to a world-wide movement gathering in a lot of ticked off people looking for an organizational center.

    Yes, “Bush” DID do it, with help from his moron war-baiting chickenhawks.

    The lesson from Viet Nam should be that sometimes the smart move, if you won’t leave folks alone, is just lose the war as quickly, and in the least costly manner, needed to let them run themselves, without our “help”.

    It took Pearl Harbor for FDR to put the USA into WW2.
    it took Bin Ladin’s 9/11/01 for Bush to put the USA into the Global War of the anti-Israel and anti-America Muslim Brotherhood spawns in the world who are doing mass murders all around the world.
    -
    I believe the “good” should defend against the “evil”…and Jihadism is evil which should be an unquestioned fact in normal minds. Why would any moral human support terrorists who use children and even pets who don’t know what they are doing, in suicide bombings? Who use homes, schools, mosques, as missile storing and missile firing sites?
    -
    As a Christian, Romans 13:3-4 sums up the good versus evil;
    “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil…..For he is the minister of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain; for he is the minister of God to execute wrath upon him that does evil.”
    -
    That was what GW Bush did after Mideast terrorists trained in Afghanistan carried out the mass murder by crashing 3 airliners full of passengers into American targets, a very EVIL act celebrated wherever terrorists were hiding.

    “I come not to bring peace to the world, but a sword.” Jesus

    Good “Christians” have indeed capitalized on that, for 2,000 years as their REAL motivation. Oh, wait with the MIC, that real motivation uses the quote for proof their profits are “blessed by God”.

    This would assume he is TRYING to get out of the trap. In reality, he doesn’t even know he is in one.

    So it’s Obama’s fault that he withdrew because Bush agreed to a time table?

    I found this excellent article this morning, 8/4/14, and I appreciate an established columnist writing so clearly about the world’s greatest threat, Global Jihadism, that uses Satan’s hatred for Jews to do mass murder to the utmost of their ability.

    @Ted Lind

    Not going to war is a good thing.
    The Middle East has been at war with itself for the past 5,000+ years.
    NOBODY has been able to broker a lasting peace deal in that area without imposing it from OUTSIDE.
    The Roman Empire. The Byzantine Empire. Assorted Caliphates. The Ottoman Empire. And the Agreements after WWI.
    Every one of them was a peace imposed by an occupying army.
    Every US President who tried to bring peace to that area got caught in the trap, and it lasted until he left office.
    Nothing to do with party politics, OR starting a war.
