Could be worse… It could be New Jersey….
    The state bird is extinct…
    The state rock is concrete…
    The state tree is dead…

Hmmm, ‘Glades is nice, but most of Florida?, even some of the Carolinas may be safer, and more hospitable. BTW; Arizona was also severely damaged by the “snowbird” invasion. It’s what led to lowering environmental standards, or just taking away funding to enforce.

But, doing away with those nasty, invasive, regulations will make for far fewer future “snowbirds”, just worm food for slow learners.

These days it isn’t snowbirds in Arizona, it’s far, far worse…. It’s Californians!

Dr. W seems to combine the attributes of curmudgeon and xenophobe (with lots of other despicable traits I won’t bother to name). It’s a shame he flouts what he believes to be the true character of southerners.

One can sympathize with the travelers. They may be fleeing West Virginia.

I thought you lived on the other coast…..

Florida is a great place to visit. If we could just get all the Canadians, New Yorkers, Michiganders and new englanders (had to bunch ’em together) to GO HOME once the “visit” is over. But no, they LIKE it here so they stay and then all the BS they live with at home comes with them.

What do you really know about the Glades Trout? How the people from up north AND the people from Cuba have encroached on it, drained it, filled it destroyed the ecosystem so that they can have a few more homes in the swamp?

Humans are a virus. We eat and eat until the host is dead and die in the process.

It’s non-productive to attack a cartoon pointiong out that South Carolina has a problem instead of addressing the problem. That family is from NORTH Carolina? You assume (making an ass out of you – not me) and showing bigoty is alive and well in South Carolina. Try a little kindness after all, you have a beautiful state.

^Bruce, sadly, I’m aware of the destruction from the “sugar lobby” among others on the water regime in southern Florida and the damage to the Glades and Big Cypress areas. I’ve followed it for many years. Then throw in the “pet snakes” and other invasive plant and animal species, and I’d have to go along with your “humans as virus”, from starlings, to sparrows, cows (brucillosis) and sheep (blue tongue and other diseases) it’s our “occupancy and baggage” we bring. It’s interesting that it’s the “industrialized” and “civilized” cultures, that have destroyed the indigenous, that have done the real damage, planet-wide (including oceans).
