    Yes, Bruce, absolutely NO EXCUSE for getting out troops out of TWO wars he didn’t start, and keeping them out of three more potential (Tunisia, Libya, and Syria) wars we don’t need to “put boots on the ground” in .

    And, there’s no excuse for producing a climate in the economy that has held the stock market at record high levels, or trying to get folks health care, even the 5% that are in the “individual insurance market”, at affordable rates. (Even if , like is often the case, “beta type” computer programs often have problems getting running.)

    Who said anything about comsumption? I just want the roasting. It would be fitting for one of the worst Presidents in American history.
    He’s right down there with Fillmore, Harding, Andrew Johnson, or Pierce. Not quite to the level of Buchanan though… He hasn’t allowed an open civil war to start….yet…

    Jimmy Carter wasn’t so bad after all , was he? At least Carter has shown the world a very good humanitarian side.

    Trout, you may pardon him all you want.

    This man schemed, obfuscated and brought pressure to bear in order to pass and sign into law a piece of legislation that he knew would NOT do the things he swore to.

    Not just once but multiple times over several years, he lied to those who elected him. And not just about this one thing.

    Your loyalty is admirable. Your faith in Obama complete. I hope you enjoy the “benefits” he has planned for you and our brother veterans who will wonder why the checks get smaller and the service at the VA goes from bad to worse.

    But that’s OK, maybe you just WANT to take that pill………

    You learned your lesson well grasshopper.

    If you can’t argue the point made, change the subject, obfuscate and redirect focus. Nothing, absolutely nothing in the initial portion of dtroutma’s comment is inaccurate or false. The second part of dtroutma’s comment is more opinion and sarcasm than stating fact. But since you can’t argue the points he made you must at least be admired for not directly attacking the messenger. Instead you demonstrate you have low integrity by changing the subject and exploiting and exaggerating the truth.

    It is without doubt that the President knew, or reasonably should have known that while his statement may technically be accurate that it was indeed incorrect. However much of the conditions that make it inaccurate are beyond his control. Likewise the legislation was not crafted by or pushed by the President. The concept was but the legislation was crafted over 14 months but congress not the President. There is no Democratic version of ALEC so nice try there. Simply put most if not all of your missive is interpretation of the facts and therefore more opinion than actual undeniable fact.

    Likewise you can keep your impending but totally false assertion that I am defending President Obama because I am not and have not. I have spoken out critically about his handling of this issue. He was wrong, he should have known he was wrong. But like I said, what he said was technically correct. What makes him wrong is he should have known that there were many forces that would act in a way to negate his claims, to make them false. Such as the fact that insurance plans terminate and re-enroll or revise annually. Often times with significant changes. So even if you did not intend to change your policy since 2010 the chances that the insurance companies would leave your policy alone and not make significant changes to it were nil. Not your fault and not President Obama’s fault, but still a fact he should have known and considered.

    @Bruce4671

    Since your plan today is not substantially the same as it was in 2010, likely due solely to the actions of the insurance company you would not be able to keep your current plan due to the fact that it is not the same plan as it was in 2010. But in 2010 when he said if you like your current plan you could keep it that was your 2010 plan you could keep. He should have qualified his statement with the PPACA would not change your plan or only you could keep it only if yoru insurance company didn’t substantially change it. But since your plan today is not the same plane technically he was not incorrect. Since the insurance company changed your plan, a force beyond your or his control, you no longer have the same plan as you did in 2010, so it is not the PPACA or President Obama that prevented you from keeping your 2010 plan, it was the insurance company. And they denied you the ability to keep your 2010 plan independent of the PPACA. Can you see the simple facts there yet? Probably not.

    None of this makes President Obama continually repeating the same inaccurate comments, without qualifications proper, but it also does not lay the blame solely at his feet. You could not have kept your same 2010 plan regardless of the PPACA, the insurance companies simply would not have continued your plan. So the President was WRONG, but no matter how badly you want it to be so, he was not wrong with nefarious intent. It’s time for your side to grow up and engage in adult discussions and dialogue, acknowledging the truth and reality even when it does not fit your meme. There is plenty to be unhappy with this President about, drones, debt, CONTINUATION of many, many bush era policies (Patriot Act and the NSA domestic spying to name just two). When you guys grab an issue like this and make a mountain out of a grain of sand it only serves to appease your extremist base but alienate the rest of society, and likely the world. Please come back to reality, develop some integrity and argue the facts. I know it will take work on your part because you won’t be able to just parrot the party line but I think you can do it. Trust me, there’s plenty of dissent even among us liberals regarding President Obama and his policies so you don’t have to embrace him, just resist your party’s mindless propaganda.

    So ok, switching from Obama’s “wrong statements” to comparing the “wrong statements” to those that Bush may have made is OK. But me, since you disagree with me, I’m bad. Yep. Can’t argue (trout) that Obama was telling the truth but you CAN fall back on blaming Bush. Good job.

    And THEN I get an epistle in 2 parts. But I will respond in just a few words (unlike me, I know)

    Jump to your last sentence and the admonition you have for me. Now apply that to yourself.

    That’s right. You too should " just resist your party’s mindless propaganda."

    Think you can do that?

    Obama is trying to focus on the important issues – the need to fix a medical delivery system that fails so many Americans, while his enemies just want him to fail. So they blather on about technical issues and delayed deadlines that in the long run are irrelevant.

    @Gypsy8

    IF Obama’s “fix” delivered the promised results – a reduction of costs by $2500, the ability to remain with the plan one has had for years at the same or lesser cost and people are happy with, actually providing those that want insurance and can not get it an affordable policy, and the ability to keep the health care provider you have built a relationship with over the years without exception – then maybe the technical issues and the inability to start up the system that they had YEARS to put together with a few delays could be overlooked.

    BUt tell me, is it really acceptable to you that your president lies to you for years (the alternative is that he did not have a clue about what was going on with HIS signature legislation which may be worse) about the one thing that most people care about their health? Really?

    Not to dwell on the other facts:

    No one really read or understood the consequences of this law.

    Once it was studied, those that could see what would happen and told you about it were subject to character assassination to facilitate the cover up of a bad law.

    Once exposed the president changes the law to suit his purpose against all constitutional provisions and without legal authority to do so, giving his supporters the breaks.

    And finally, even while admitting his law is a bust, illegally changes the laws requirements AGAIN to exercise a little CYA action.

    You are just fine with all that?

    Oh that’s right, it’s all Bush’s fault…..
