But is his personal life. Wasn’t that the line when Clinton was doing Monica?

I am not sure, but this could be one of those “Better of the two evils” kind of win. Maybe he did a good job while he was in office and like with Clinton they decided they could let the infidelity and lies go.

Un-effing-believable. A pathological liar and narcissist representing SC. Look for his presidential run, coming soon…

Nope, not really. He abandoned his post to canoodle with his mistress. Period. Even his second-in-command didn’t know where he was. That is technically illegal and certainly incompetent.

I started taking exception to this prejudicial post of yours. Not PC what you are saying.
    Then the “but” sank in….

They elected Sanford! How can it possibly be expected the “inbred imbecile” stereotype won’t be considered proven?
I feel sorry for all the decent intelligent citizens of SC, they should have voted.

I do not claim to know about Ms. Colbert-Busch’s politics. I do know that Mr. Sanford spent more time running against Nancy Pelosi. I also know that South Carolina has a history of voting for right-wing Republicans (some of whom were Dixiecrats): Hollings, Thurmond, DeMint, and the I-can’t-wait-to-see-what-happens-when-he-realizes-he’s-gay Graham.

As with the people in Central Virginia where I live, the majority will vote Republican, regardless of the value and/or history of any candidate.

And for those who can’t see a difference between Mr. Sanford and Mr. Clinton, please remember that Mr. Sanford left his office, left the state, left the hemisphere without any notice, without a contact number, without a way for anyone to get hold of him. Imagine an earthquake, nuclear accident, tornado. “Governor, what should we do? Governor? Governor?”

He simply abdicated his office. Try that with your job and see if it’s still there waiting for you when you decide to come back.

Clinton’s only crime was gettting bjs in the white house. Sanford’s sins were leaving his post while on duty, using public funds to pay for his trip with his mistress, and placing a restraining order on his ex-wife. The guy is 5x worse than Clinton.

Good point about Sanford abdicating his office.

Well, all the voters who voted spoke, and we’re stuck with him. As to SC politics in general, I hope they keep the “battle flag” atop the statehouse. Not because I agree with it, but because once we erase all the symbols of the Confederacy, Including changing school and park names, as was recently reported, it will be easy for others to forget, or to buy in to the “War of Northern Aggression” meme. It needs to be there as a reminder that WE once went to war against ourselves, and that we ALWAYS remember why!
