If only they’d actually work, with or without dignity. Boehner was on the talk shows saying that the house had passed a sequester solution! But there has been no sequester solution passed in the house this year (there was one last year, but that expired when the 2012 congress did, and that was when they had more Republican votes). Boehner does not have the votes or the leadership to be able to govern, and refuses to introduce the president’s or the senate’s compromise plans because nothing the president would sign will be acceptable to his crazy petulant eight-year-olds.

Wrong. The Senate (Harry Reid) refuses to take up any fiscal bills. That is a part of the reason we have not had a budget for the last four years.

Socialism sucks! You cannot have equal results in life. Besides, you already have Socialists in the White House as well as the majority in the Senate. You also had a majority of Socialists in the House of Representatives.

There has never been a successful socialist country. I don’t know why you persist in promoting a system that hasn’t worked in it’s many iterations. If you outlaw the Republican party because it is right of the socialists, y ou would also have to outlaw the Democratic party for the same reason leaving only socialists. So much for freedom.

Reprint truth all you want, but it does not matter to “those” people.

And what were the add-ons to those bills? In the second case, Boehner KNEW the Senate would not go along with extending all rates. Both votes were show votes.

As a progressive moderate, I lean left on a lot of issues, and I do place a hefty majority of blame on the current Rep party and what I see as a war on science and voting rights, as well as a calloused disregard for the poor, elderly, and minorities
Both parties practice an "end justifies means’ form of governing and both allow lobbyists way too much legislation. There have been instances where lobbyists drafted legislation introduced by members and lobbyists given leadership posts in gov’t organization that were supposed to regulate/monitor the industries for which the lobbyist had worked. This influence results in waste, fraud, and abuse that costs taxpayers way too much, and both parties claim that regulation is part of the problem when it is proven that proper supervision can reduce costs (a seemingly primary concern) and save lives (a secondary at best.)
The Dems and Reps have taken turns being the “bad guys” over our history, but they haven’t been as divided as they are now since the Civil War. By being uncivil to one another, we tell them that we agree with their tactics and encourage them to hold hard lines which does no one any good. Both parties must recognize the diversity of our population. Also-
We MUST reduce debt and deficits. We MUST reduce health costs paid by the gov’t. We MUST improve infrastructure. We MUST do all of these things and more in a bipartisan and civil manner with long term plans that will give businesses, communities, and families an environment in which they too can make long term plans.
