Never mind that the NSA has been sucking up every electronic signal on the planet and data mining it for decades.

Every invention the USA has ever produced ultimately has been used against the USA in one form or another, even as just a deterrent. We educate the world in US universities, but many nations have become better at pre k through grade 12 education than us and their children are encouraged to have a better work ethic. This is a flaw that needs be corrected.
Mr. Arial’s cartoon shows a real threat to the security of our country, and China may not be the worst of the computer threats we face. After all, we discovered them.
Respectfully,
C.

We just need to break out our big snake shredding sword, that’s all. Thanks republicans for outsourcing all those good paying union manufacturing jobs to China, this is the monster you created trying to gain permanent political superiority.

Oh goodie; ANOTHER horrible-terrible threat for Americans to be terrified by.
Stay frightened, my friends. You’re much easier to control that way.

“Stay frightened, my friends. You’re much easier to control that way.”
The good Doctor brings up a significant point that is often illustrated here. When people are afraid, they made rash, often impulsive decisions, based on emotion, not logic and reason. People argue easily and are slow to compromise and work together. Too often it is easier to blame others than focus on the remedy to the problem…

The U.S., Russia, Israel have been the tops in doing cyber spying for decades, and we have the satellites to do it, as well as U2, drones retired SR 71’s etc, so now the worm is only wiggling, and the sky is suddenly falling??

One day, we may just pleasantly surprise you Dr. Canuck,
The best part of this threat, and it is a threat, is it is best fought if we improve education and skill building instead of increasing the size of the arsenal. An action that costs less and has more collatoral benefits than explosives. And who knows, while teaching the math and science needed to combat a cyber war, there’s no telling what other things people will learn.
It’s my own concern/opinion that the ‘controllers’ in this nation prefer us ignorant, compulsive, and divided.
Respectfully,
C.

^ I remember the “threat” of Sputnik and how it did just that. May history repeat itself.

The"threat" of Sputnik was that it caught our military “minds” by surprise. Just as computer hacking caught/catches us by surprise every time. We are STILL infused with the McGuffey Reader/Nun with Pointer type of education which does not allow for questioning/independent thinking. We’d be better off if more of our teachers had George Carlin’s attitude!
